this semester so far...
Good: I'm losing weight! I actually have a class I like, which is Topics in Molecular Genetics.

Bad: The reason why I'm shedding pounds is because I'm so stressed out about biochem lab. Enough so that I feel nauseous and lose my appetite. There's also the fact that Douglass has no food options compared to College Ave.

I nearly crashed two weeks ago. From all the stress, lack of sleep and nutrition, I developed a horrible stomachache and headache for two days. This little episode showed me that I'm probably not cut out for grad school...

say no to science
Sometimes I really wonder why I never chose to become a business major. Compared to the sciences, it's not that bad.

It's absolutely freezing here! I actually needed my winter coat and a hoodie today.

So I'm thinking of double majoring in microbiology and biomathematics. It'll set my graduation date back a year to take the required math courses. It's very confusing since what I'd really like to study is computational biology. It's kind of the same thing, but not. The whole field is evolving so who knows anymore.

司徒
I just found out that my last name is much more awesome than I ever thought it could be! My last name is actually a rank given to the prime minister of the emperor. Related family members of the prime minister took on this title as their last name. Another interesting fact: all the people with 司徒 as their surname may be related. This is due to the fact that we all might share the same common ancestry line. Back in the day, the other two 司徒 branches were killed off. The third branch, which survived, ended up in Guangdong. My dad's family is from Guangdong too, so it all works out. Crazy stuff!

My four year old cousin seems to be infatuated with me. Why? The only thing that comes to mind is that I listen to whatever he's going on about. I saw him during Chinese New Year, and decided to ask how's he doing. This ended up being a long conversation spanning over a multitude of topics ranging from: preschool, the movie Cars, cars in general, Transformers, how his sister forces him to watch KidSongs, back to Cars and Transformers, and finally goldfish. I tried to listen as attentively as possible even though I had a severe lack of knowledge of all of these things except for goldfish.

Fast forward to yesterday, and my dad tells me I got a call from him. He wanted to talk to me. I call today and find out that he's been asking about me this whole time! His mom asks me if I can come over to play with him since he really wants to see me.

It's a bit surreal since kids are usually apathetic towards me. I'm just not crazy or silly enough unfortunately. I don't mind the attention though. He's a cute kid and incredibly smart. If I compared my four year old self to him, I'd look like the stupidest child that ever existed.
